About Us

The British Institute

The British Institute (TBI) has been an English language training provider for adults, professionals, teenagers, and children since 1984. TBI Training & Testing Centre is the only institution in Indonesia approved by Cambridge English Language Assessment to deliver one of their internationally recognized teacher training courses, Cambridge CELTA.

TBI Instructors have at least one internationally recognised English teaching qualification (preferably the CELTA, a Trinity certificate, or a similarly recognised qualification) and are experienced in delivering all programmes suitable for employees or students. Teachers are brenchmarked using TBI’s professional teaching standard system, and this system ensures that we are able to maintain excellent teaching standards across our schools.

This programe provides learners with a realistic and informative approach to key business concepts and ideas. Learners will develop fluency and accuracy in all four skills using interesting texts and motivating tasks as well as having input on grammar, business vocabulary and pronounciation.

Business Skills
(Writing, Presentation, Negotiation)

These programmes are aimed to improve learners business writing, presentation or negotiation skills. Learners will improve their knowledge and develop essentials language skills for each topic.

Customised Workshop

This programmes provides shorter training programmes with narrower scope that would suit each company’s training needs.

English for Specific Purposes

This programme is designed for people already in employment, focusing on the particular vocabulary and skills they need. Learners will develop fluency and accuracy in all four skills using interesting texts and motivating tasks.

Academic English Preparation
(TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS)

This programme is for those who are preparing for further study using English as medium of instructions. Focusing on English in academic contexts, students are being prepared to improve their English language skills to sit confidently in international examinations.

Academic Writing

This programme is designed for learners who want to further their study in universities abroad. This course familiazes learners to the structure of academic writing, the fundamentals of grammar and punctuations, and other essential writing skills.

General English

This programme is designed for students who need to improve their English language skills for everyday use. It consists of General English and Conversation.

Conversation

This programme is designed to improve learners conversational skills. Learners will learn to communicate effectively in English in social situations.

Very Young Learners
(4-6 years old)

This programme is designed for pre-schoolers between 4 and 6 years old. Learners are encouraged to acquire the language in the most natural and fun way. We help build their confidence in a positive learning environment.

Young Learners
(7-9 years old)

This programme is designed for school-age learners between 7 and 9 years old. We help build the learners knowledge of the world outside the classroom while introducing them to learning other subjects through English. Target language is reinforced in a fun and memorable way.

Pre Teenagers
(10-11 years old)

This programme is designed for school-age learners between 10 and 11 years old. Learners are taught in a way that combines fun with real learning focusing on the students, placing an emphasis on building fluency and accuracy.

Teenagers
(12-15 years old)

This programme is designed for schools-age learners between 12 and 15 years old. Learners are encouraged to speak and write more confidently and accurately as well as improve their listening and reading skills. They will also expand their knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary
